Internet was brown up yesterday with this Ultra Miami thing. After 18 years, Ultra is having some issues with their home Bayfront Park. They’re having this for the last couple years and this year, they can’t hold it any more.
All we saw was Ultra Miami kicked out from Bayfront Park. But, is it? Let’s dive in to.
Couple of hours ago, Ultra make a statement regarding this issue. Tickets on sale and tier one was sold out within 2 days so they have to do something because everyone is eagerly waiting for this year line up because of the Swedish House Mafia return.
“The vote today represents only a denial of certain terms of the current proposed 5-year contract, rather than the continued production of the overall festival itself.”
Residents downtown near the waterfront are the main opposition to the festival due to the noise and traffic it creates for days before and after the festival itself. One of the main issues brought forth by representatives on the council was lack of enough philanthropy from Ultra, in exchange for what amounted to taking over the city for a period of around a week.
