Seems like Skrillex have his hands on lot of music recently. From the new single “Connect” from Elohim, “Arms Around You” from XXXTentacion and Lil Pump, and even writing credits on a new song from Mariah Carey, Skrillex’s work can thrive with even the unlikeliest of collaborators.
Now he is here with another one for Kelsey Lu on her latest record called Due West.
Kelsey is a singer, a cellist, and a producer. At age 18 and recorded her spare stunner of a debut EP, 2016’s Church. She has collaborated and shared stages with the likes of Solange, Sampha, Blood Orange, Kelela, Moses Sumney and many more.
About her latest single, it produced by Rodaidh McDonald with additional work from Skrillex, is the latest from Kelsey Lu since unveiling “Shades of Blue” earlier this year to great critical acclaim.
The music video was directed by Cara Stricker and Mindy Le Brock, and showcase an extremely stylized project that nicely contrasts the audio with gripping visuals. The lyrics discuss a continuous evolution of self and one’s home, while the visuals depict a state of ever-flowing travel and growth.
