3 years before, Paul Van Dyk faced a terrible accident. He was fall down from the SOT stage while he was performing and it was a nearly death experience. Finally he has been court granted over $12.5 million from event organizers following a lawsuit.
Paul Van suffered from serious brain damage and also had some damage to his spine as a result of this nasty fall. He was recovered within three months thanks to all who involved with his medications. But this incident impact his career a lot.
Paul also blamed the ASOT team for this controversy. “Up to this point, none of these guys involved picked up the phone to call me and ask me how I am,” he said. “If you come to my house and slip and break an arm, I will call you and see how you are doing. But with these guys, no way, it goes to tell you about the characters of the people involved.”
After 3 years, the judgement handed down awarded van Dyk $12,588,643.45 total for medical bills and lost profits.
According to a report, the breakdown included $2 million for future medical expenses, $1.2 million for lost profits over the past two years, and $2.475 million for prospected future loses over the next 10 years. Plus, extra damages.
“I want everyone involved in some way in production and booking to shine a light on the safety of their events,” – Paul Van Dyk.
