South African producer Daniel Baron sued David Guetta for copyrights over Guetta’s “Light Headed” with Sia.
So Daniel released his track “Children of The Sun” in 2016. As he said, it was one of the biggest single at the time on his country. Later in 2017, David Guetta released “Light Headed” with Sia and the melody is the same. Light Headed sounds the same as “Children Of The Sun.”
It’s not just sounds the same, that’s the exact melody and also the it’s in the same key. So Daniel Baron sued against David Guetta after this incident.
Baron went onto the the South African radio show Breakfast with Martin Bester to speak about the situation and offer up some background to the lawsuit.
“Guetta was playing at Ultra that year, so there is a high possibility that one of the other DJs played my song and he heart it. When I heard the song for the very first time, it was the craziest feeling ever. It was a mixture of shock, disbelief, and honor.”
He explains that he preferred to handle the situation privately at first, sending Guetta a formal legal letter about the situation in December 2018. But he didn’t received a reply back from Guetta or the Record Label.
Let’s see what’s gonna happen next.
